Question by Jen palla【ツ】: why arent there any girl golf caddys?
please dont say
not because we connot handle it
not because we are not strong enough

Answer by Chelsea
When golf first originated it stood for (Gentelman Only Ladies Forbidden)

Essentially this age old sport hasn’t changed much through the years. Golf caddies have simply always been men. The tourneys like the Masters are oriented towards men.

Also, I know you don’t want this answer, but women are persived as “weaker.”

Another reason is that the golfers often discuss clubs and shots with their caddy. Therefore men are full of theselves and don’t want advise from a woman, and they are usually good friends with their caddy.

Hope this helped!

Primarily, because most golf clubs just started letting women play a few years back. It’s still considered a “Good Ol’ Boys Club” and still look down on having women do something men have done for years. Most Caddies also have to have many years of experience to give “advice” to the player. Because it’s harder for women to even get into playing it’s just as hard for them to get this experience that most golfers need.

    Because they’re not strong enough.

  3. PK says:

There are plenty of women caddies. If their player is not scoring well or winning, they are not shown on tv.

Don’t forget Fanny Sunesson…she caddied for Faldo during his prime years and then for Sergio Garcia. I think she was caddying for Fred Funk last I heard.

You can carry my bag if you want…I don’t currently have a caddy.

are you kidding? have you seen some of the asian events? some are all women.

  6. Wes B says:

Because there’s no kitchens on the golf course.

  7. Golfsweetie92 says:

  8. James C177 says:

Honestly, how many women have the stamina to carry 50+lbs. of equipment all week long walking so many miles on a golf course?

  9. ticktag says:

Not sure why it is the case in US and Europe but most caddies are females in Asia, especially in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and China too.

  10. otto m says:

There are lots of girl caddies around, especially in asia.

its not that there not strong enough at all because you can have a female caddy its just most females dont want to tought a 50 pound golf bag for 18 holes thats just some women so please dont get mad

  12. MJ says:

There are plenty of women/girl caddies. As has been stated above, professionally, most are located in Asian countries. However, Fanny, is probably the most famous one in the U.S. Steve Stricker’s wife even caddied for him, some.

If you doubt there are female caddies in U.S., check out caddychicks.com Frivolous site but proves the answer to your question….LOL

  13. Tracer says:

There are. Atleast on the pro level. Nick Faldo, for one, has had a female caddie. Caddies in general (outside of the tours) are becoming a thing of the past.

  14. hope this helps says:

There are plenty… many on the women’s tour… on the nationwide tour you find a lot of the players wives caddying from time to time to save money… and on the PGA tour Fanny Sunesson caddied for Nick Faldo for 10 years carrying his bag as he won a number of major championships, then worked with Sergio for a time and now carries Henrik Stenson’s bag…

If you want to caddy, go for it.

First off! Chelsea is so wrong as to be almost not worth mentioning……. In the US there are not many female caddies…for what ever reason. There have been several notable exceptions as noted by several of the above answerer’s. When I was in Asia last year every where I played the Caddies were mostly female and were great! I would guess as far as the US is concerned…there are just not many places that have caddies anymore and not many gals that are interested in this sort of thing
