my wife and i want to go on a day trip and don’t really know where to go, though about palm springs but don’t know what there is to do out there.

Take the sky tram up the mountain (to Tahquitz Canyon?) Nice view and cooler up there.

The Living Desert Zoo is nice although its still pretty hot this time of year.
If you like to hike than the Indian Canyon Trails are a good place to go.
Shopping, restaurants and bars can be found on Palm Canyon Drive and Indian Canyon Drive which is downtown Palm Springs. The El Paseo Shopping District has very nice stores.
The Palm Springs Follies are entertaining to say the least.
If you like Mid-Century modern architecture than PS has several neighborhoods like Canyon Country Club, El Rancho Vista Estates and Twin Palms.
I went for a beautiful hike up a stream fed canyon. The tram is good.
I understand that there are some Indian-owned casinos out that way, if you ‘re inclined to visit such places.
