What is better golf ball taylormade or callaway?
Question by fordeko: What is better golf ball taylormade or callaway?
What ball is better to use taylormade or callaway?
Best answer:
Answer by John Smith
Generally, the Callaway. Their tour balls have a very soft feel with a lot of spin off of the wedge. Taylormade has recently came out with a 5 piece ball, the Penta, which is supposed to have high spin were you need it, and low were you don’t. All of the reviews i have read have agreed with this statement though i havent been able to test them yet. I usually play a nike one, titleist pro v1x, or a callaway tour i. I prefer the titleist ball over the other 2, but i am best with my pitching wedge so the spin and feel of the titliest helps me get the 135 yards out of the wedge.

taylormade because they are brighter looking
I like callaway more than I like taylormade. I tryout taylormade ball fitting and they suggested that I get better result with their balls. so I purchase a dozen of them and used them the next time out. Well, I really see that much of different playing their brand vs the other brand name balls. so I playing callaway balls for now.
I prefer Callaways… Warbirds (windy days) and XT Hot Bites (calm days)
I think the Taylormade balls are better myself, Having tried most balls out there, the taylormade ball have come a long way. I think they just fly straighter than the Callaway balls.
Callaway. They are more tour used and plus the hex shape instead of circles is a good idea (takes up most ball surface, and more round, better spin)
Both are good but i like callaway better
This is a very broad and open question…
Taylormade and Callaway both have a few different models:
Premium; Callaway Tour i(z), Tour i(s) OR Taylormade PENTA
Mid range; Callaway HX Hot, Diablo/Diablo Tour OR Taylormade TP Black
Lower end; Callaway Warbird OR Taylormade Burner balls.
MYSELF: I am a 4 handicap and I generally play 2-3 times per month.
I have had experience with all of them. Currently I play the Penta or Tour i(z) depending on the course or conditions. The Callaway is a little longer (maybe 4 yards) off the drives but typically does not spin well off the wedges or short irons. The Penta I enjoy all around minus the cover scuffs too easy. Also The Callaway Tour i(s) is a higher spinning and softer version of the i(z). It is more so for the lower swing speeds(under 100MPH).
Next
The Callaway HX Hot. This is a great ball for a mid to high handicapper. It is soft durable and fairly long. The Taylormade TP Black Is a bit longer and feels great off mid/long irons. Also its cover last for A WHILE!
Finally:
The Warbird and Burner are both balls around the $ 20 per dozen mark. The Warbird is a hard distance ball that does create a bit of side spin (for the person not so confident in their driver this is not a good ball). The Taylormade burner now has two models (Burner and Burner Tour). The Burner ball is a high launch, very soft and durable ball. The Burner Tour is the same but lower spin.
Hope that helps:)
