Question by Janette: The average ball speed in golf?
I have the Medicus ball speed meter, and i tested it out yesterday at the driving range. I didn’t have the chance to test out my driver, but i tested out my 7 and 5 irons. My ball speed varied from 90-97. 97 was my highest. Oh and btw i’m 13 and a female.

Average golf ball speed is usually thought of as 1.5 times clubhead speed; so it looks like you have about a 60-65 MPH clubhead speed……. 1 MPH clubhead speed is generally 3 yards; so, theoretically, you’d be hitting your driver 180-200 yds.

I don’t really know as if there’s a “average” For example, I’m 16 years old, Driver speed of about 100mp average, and my ball speed is like 135-140. And that’s even low considering my swing speed, or so I’m told
