Question by aga ayhsajkm: Should I move back to Florida?
I moved to Utah about 5 months ago to accept a job and lived with my family. My family has since relocated to Dallas, TX. It has gone well but I now have an opportunity to move home to Jacksonville, Fl where most of my friends and family are. I have basically no social life in UT and simply work and play golf where if I were to move home I would have much more fun. Here are the details of each what should i do:
Utah:
Pros:
44K Base Salary (5% State income tax so more like 41.5K)
My boss loves me and I have a decent chance of advancement
Cons:
Spend about $ 250 per month in gas
Advancement opportunities dont go very far
No friends or family
Florida:
Pros:
Friends and Family
Potential to make more $ $ with commissions and bonuses
Better Advancement opportunities
No State income tax
Work is only 1 mile from home so much cheaper gas
Cons:
Lower base 35K (but no state income tax and i get bonus/commission monthly)
Relocation expense
Have to reestablish my self with a new company so might take longer to advance but could ultimately go further

i guess with all the pros and cons u stated, Florida wins.. it’s not important where u are now but more important is where u’ll be in the future. so if u can advance further in florida, go for it.
plus u mentioned u pay less on gas and can have a better income (with bonuses) so it’s an extra plus.
family and friends are a blessing.. it’s really important to have a social life besides work.
good luck with ur decision but i think Florida is a good choice in ur case.

Move to Florida!
If you have, or are certain you can earn income there, GO! If that’s where your family and friends are and you can make a living, what are you waiting for? You could be making 100k a year somewhere but without family and friends to enjoy it, what’s the point?
Move back to Jacksonville so you can watch some good ole’ Jaguars and sip some SWEET TEA.
