I used your chipping technology today and even though I was a bit sceptical at first, it works tremendously well.
Much more secure than anything I’ve tried lately, so I recomend this to others that have problems with their chipping.
Because the ball position is in the centre of the stance and not the back foot there will be more loft on the golf club. This creates a high trajectory ball flight.
There is no right or wrong… just learn to compress the ball properly and then learn what different clubs and ball positions will give you in ball flight.
so with what you have shown, is the only difference is what you put into the swing? or is it height aswell? i noticed that the pitch shot went alot higher than the chipping, is that part of the difference?
Thanks man. Good lesson.
You say you hit each of those clubs those distances.
Let me ask you… with what length swing and why always the same? A club isn’t designed to go only one distance or a specific distance.
Practice making some half swings with each club and mark those distances… then 3/4 swings with each club. Now you have 9 yardages within 110y with a full, 3/4 and half swing. You should be able to cover most distances then.
I am a 8 handicapper and have a hard time hitting half shots. My specific problem is as follows: I hit the PW 110 yards, SW 80 yds, and Lob wedge (60 degrees) 70 yds. What is the best shot to hit to a flag located 55 yds away? The flag is about 10 yds from the edge of the green. I use a PROV1 Titleist Golf ball. The greens are on the hard side and the ball rolls from 1 to 6 yds depending on the type of shot. How should the shot be hit with each of the three clubs?
David, I’ve been using this for full shots and I’m hitting it CONSISTENTLY straight. My only problem is on par 3′s when I tee it up, I’ll pull the ball. But I finally have reliable pitch within 80 yards! Chipping is of course better. Thanks again.
BTW- my distance control with putter is also much better with this right arm technique! I should send you a check.
Never said you couldn’t
A hitting technique uses the right arm to drive the club down through low point and into finish.
The key to good golf is good impact alignments… This is the starting point to help you learn good impact alignments. Seek out a Medicus Instructor as they will be able to identify which pattern you are using in your technique and help you swing your way but BETTER!
Stack and tilt that is out on the market uses a version of the hitting technique.
Phenomenal tip! Why not use it for full golf swing? I heard Johnny Miller talking about a PGA player using all right arm on TV and I didn’t understand it. Now I do. Great for all my other irons too! Thanks friend!
To help you align the face,
Stand directly behind the ball in line with your target.
Pick something on the ground about a yard or so in front of the ball in line with the target.
3. Address the ball and align the clubface up with this intermediate target you have chosen.
Why?? Because it is easier to align the face with something just in front of the ball than it is the target which is out of your vision whilst focusing on the ball.
Hope this helps.

thanks for the video. I was confused about the difference between the two, especially when it comes to stance. Now I knwo the difference. It would be great if you could do a video on aim to try to achieve more hole ins.
I am going to try this, my short game is terrible. My Handicap is 14 but I have the short game of a 24 Handicapper!! All comments are very encourageing.
great tip. this makes the short chip so much easier. keep up the great work!
Thanks for the kind comments. It’s always fantastic to hear from the golfers I have helped.
Good luck with your golf in 2008!!!

Thank you so much for your simple, easy and CONCISE video. It has improved my shoty game tremendously. Today I saved 6+ shots with just your lesson. Keep up the great work and videos!!!!
Tried these two shots on the practice green at my club and thanks to this video it was easy!
My pitch shots used to be going low and my chips were non-existent. I know I’ve became a better golfer by improving my short game with this video!
I would like to thank you strutt77 for your kind words.

that was by far the best video ive seen showing the easy mechanics of the two shots.
David used a PW in this clip but it is our philosophy to change clubs and not length of stroke to get the added distance for longer chips.
I makes no difference what club was used… Learn the technique and then learn what the technique will produce with different clubs.
I make sure I have the technique spot on repeating the set up, stance and power for each swing but if I need more or less run I just change clubs. Lofted clubs will run less… Less lofted clubs will run more.
what club did u use?
I might add that the important thing to remember whatever techinque you decide to implement is to ensure your left wrist is flat through impact and you are hitting DOWN and OUT on that golf ball.
All top golfers regardless of their swing pattern achieve a flat left wrist through the impact zone!!!
By the way… this is in fact me in the video.
The technique seen in this lesson is just the basic stroke used for chipping. Less moving parts the better. Then we can do different things to produce different results.. Pivot thrust instead of right forearm thrust will produce a higher softer ball flight for instance. This technique is a great starting point though. It is simple yet very effective.
Nice lesson
nice and uncomplicated. will be trying the ‘right elbow’ thing tomorrow. thanks for posting.
