I just began playing golf and I was hitting to the 50 yards and more on the first day. Is that okay for a beginnner?

Well, its showing that your making at least some contact which isn’t bad for your first day ever, considering most people have a hard time hitting it more then 25 yards on their first day. Good luck with your golf game!

i think for your first hit, that is great. the 4 iron isn’t the easiest club to hit. Honestly soon you’ll be crushing your 4 iron and you’ll laugh at how far you used to hit.
I have always encouraged those who I have worked with when fitting them for clubs to begin with a seven iron. The reason is that the club is lofted and allows the beginner to get the ball airborne easily. There is a sense of reward in seeing the ball arc out from the mat with this club, rather than to try and hit a far more difficult iron like the 4 iron right off the bat.
I don’t know your athletic ability, but as an example, I just completed a set for a VP at one of our banks in town and the lady left after her first time of hitting her clubs with the 7 iron going out approx 135 yards (flight).
Hope this helps.

Honestly, being able to swing the club and make contact with the ball is quite an achievement for a first-timer. Don’t get too wrapped up in trying to get everything perfect, cause that is where you start screwing up. Just go with the flow, and in due time you will see yourself vastly improve.
Sincerely,
Young Einstein
Thats really good for a first day… Anything aside from digging trenches on the first day, especially with a 4 is an achievement in itself… keep it up and don’t worry about distance… that will come with time… concentrate on consistancy, if you can get that… you’ll have golf my friend.
thats pretty sweet, but try the 7 er the 9 irons first then use those
No, but throwing a 4 iron 50 yards on the first try is excellent!
It’s gonna get better, keep practicing.
it depends. if you hit better with your 7 iron then no. But it all depends on how you look at it. But overall yeah it is good
9 iron should get about 100 yards for beginner. The lower the number, the farther it should be (8 iron should be about ten yards farther and so on). So try to practice with high numbered irons for your luck.
If your a left-handed girl trying to play right-handed and your name’s Penelope Satinpanties . . . terrific.
No, that’s not really gonna get you anywhere. But the 4 iron is a hard club to hit. Try the 7 or a higher iron. Generally, long irons are harder to hit. You should definitely take lessons to get your form down; there’s no sense practicing on your own if you don’t know how to do it.
just the fact you hit the ball on your first try is good ,nevermind the distance , i dont hit a 4 iron much better ,but i just started as well ,and truth be known ,i didn,t hit the ball for about 5 or 6 swings
Considering it’s your first try, that’s all right.
Not really. Try seven iron.
