fix your swing, don’t change to some bull sht like that.
The Polara ball came out in the late 70s and was ruled non-conforming and was dropped from the market. The ball had dimples around the equator of the ball and non on the poles thus the name. The ball would start out slicing or hooking but would self correct and start to fly straight reducing the amount of curve on the ball. I really haven’t heard of it being re-introduced to the market but if it has you can bet that it won’t really do a lot to improve your game. Work on some good swing mechanics to rid yourself of that fade. Good luck.
This ball’s been around for awhile now. Don’t bother. USGA testing has proven that not only is the ball illegal to play in competition, but it actually UNDERPERFORMS compared to a normal ball. Yes, off the tee it may be a little helpful, but that’s only because you can tee it up to make it that way. What do you do when it’s time to hit your second or third shot? You can’t adjust the ball- that’d be a penalty.
There are no magic pills or wands in golf that you can buy to make the game easier. Polara, along with every other ball/club manufacturer, wants you to think that. It’s a trap they set to make you spend more money. Extra distance is just a $ 400 driver away! Cure slices with a ball! You’re not a “real” golfer unless you’re playing what the pros play (another joke all in itself). I have to laugh…
Correct your swing flaw(s). Practice a little bit every week. THAT will cure your slice (that’s what it really is) more effectively- not to mention permanently- than any ball will.
The gripes about the ball being illegal are foolish – mulligans and gimmes are part of the friendly game. According to the National Golf Foundation, only 22 percent of all golfers regularly score better than 90 for 18 holes on a regulation length course. That means most people are terrible golfers and anything they use to make it more fun is worth trying.
There’s a good piece about the ball today on whatyoushouldbuy.com As one other poster mentioned, the balls generally don’t fly as far because they have a lower flight path. But, they don’t slice or hook. They’re worth trying and you’re not going to lose many of them
ive just bought these for my dad – the ones i bought are polara ‘classic’ and do not have the arrows on them – do they need lined up like the newer ones?
