I know a huge part of the problem is that my spine angle changes as I enter the impact zone; My head and body starts to come up to avoid hitting the shot fat. But if I try and maintain that spine angle and not come up, the club instead will hit 6 inches behind the ball, catching all grass and the ball doesn’t go anywhere.

Here it is, with two different ways to block (or push) and the means to fix it. Based on what you said (“i really try to throw my hips out top rotate the club”) I’m certain the following is for you…

Block Caused by Clearing Hips Too Fast
-Better golfers are more prone to this fault and it comes from accelerating too fast from the top.
-Rather than a technical change, this is more to do with timing and rythum.
-Jack Nicklaus always maintained his best golf was played when he started the downswing slowly letting everything fall into place before hitting the acceleration.
-A smooth transition will help the hips and shoulders work more in unison. For a while take one more club than usual and remember it’s a swing, not a hit.

Disregard the misspelled words- I didn’t write this, just copied and pasted it.

    You’re pushing it right?
Try to hit it right, where it’s accidentally going, but on purpose from the same stance, with your hands’ direction. The body provides power, not direction.
Keep going right’er until the ball goes straight where you’re aiming.
Then start to slowly bring it back to square.

The grip is the foundation of your golf swing and developing the right grip is critical to your success in hitting the ball farther and straighter.
