Question by rick b: Are the democrats celebrating the one year anniversary of their control of congress?
On the campaign trail they pledged fiscal responsibility. Although they haven’t submitted any appropriations bills yet they want to spend $ 205,000,000,000 more than the president has proposed er, I mean Mr. Bush. They want a 1 TRILLION dollar tax increase. They tried to stuff an emergency war spending bill with billions of dollars in pork to individuals after first trying to cut off funding all together while our troops were under fire. They want to roll back the Bush tax cuts costing families $ 500 per child and the average small business $ 4,000. Now they’re dragging their feet on an emergency war spending bill for body armor, bullets and mine resistant vehicles. This is after pledging to “support our troops”. No energy bill, no action on health care, no action on the mortgage crisis, no action on immigration reform, no progress on renewing no child left behind. What are they doing aside from playing golf and having lunch with lobbyists?
you’re right I should have said majority rather than control.
I believe the current popularity of congress is the lowest in history.
funny you mention the debt. Congress is proposing 230 billion more than the president in the next budget which they have yet to deliver to the white house. The fiscal year starts Oct. !st where’s the budget?

Seeing their approval rating is lower than Bush, they should not be celebrating.

I guess the only one who is celebrating is Bush seeing someone is more disliked than him.

Are you celebrating the GOP’s one year anniversary of not being in control of congress, the 10 trillion GOP debt, the record USD weakness, all the lies, the restroom GOP pervs, the impeding GOP created recession….

  4. Boss H says:

Control means having 2/3 majority to bypass a veto.
at the moment, it is pretty well balanced.

  5. Robert K says:

They got rid of Gonzales, that lunatic at the UN John Bolton and caused Rummy to go into early retirement.
Those reasons alone are sufficient for the Dems to celebrate

  6. Ricky Rude says:

They have named several post offices and are now cutting back on their work schedule. Why am I not surprised.

  7. Barry auh2o says:

They’re so dysfunctional they couldn’t even do that without screwing it up.
