The test was undertaken in 2007, not in 2008, for german scientific TV-magazine `Quarks`(West German Radio&TV Broadcasting, WDR).
The crash-expert from Switzerland (by the way this gentleman looks quite similar to banking-mobster Ackermann and has a similar sounding voice, too) says loads on the passengers may have reached a peak beyond 150-200 G (!) in this kind of accident.
Hence, passengers would have got flatly killed in this accident.
The german comment says:
a) Body structure of the Golf very well built& extremely stable, even the fire fighters` hydraulical claws had troubles to cut off the A- and B-pillars.
b) But restraint-systems do not yet live up to the quality of the body structure, albeit them being perfectly up to date by todays`standards.
Given the excessive speed,the head of the dummy smashes through the(inflated) airbag,hitting the rigid structure of the steering wheel.Loads on the passengers are a deadly +60G.

pues sí, a lo mejor esa es la solución, poner refuerzos en la cabina como los coches de rally y que el morro se siga deformando como ahora.
mmm pero si se deforma el Habitaculo conviertes a los que quieres salvar en Tartara… la idea es preservar la cabina y tener un espacio de absorcion delante y atras… ha sido buena formula ya vez que antes si que te matabas en un Auto asi fuera a 40 KPH
Estoy de acuerdo con que darse en un auto a 100 KMH no es ninguna gracia… pero tengo mas fe en la resistencia del cuerpo humano un Piloto en un F16 Se eyecta a la velocidad del sonido y se quebra un par de costillas… pero VIVE ¿porque no se habria de resistir en un auto Con buena seguridad+cinturon un golpe en seco a 100 Por hora?? si resistimos una Eyeccion de Avion…
Se supone que lo del video es un bloque deformable de aluminio, sobre un bloque fijo de hormigón. Simula ser un vehículo de igual masa y tamaño en dirección contraria, igual que en la EuroNCAP

Lo que falta aqui es una explicacion de que la energia cinetica que se absorve en un choque no es lineal, sino cuadratica ya que energia = 1/2 * masa * velocidad al cuadrado.
Un 50% mas de velocidad es un 125% mas de energia a absorver…
Por no hablar de que encima, te estas cargando al tipo contra el que te la pegas, ya ves tu….
