I am thinking about buying a set of nitro golf clubs from big 5 and I am having a hard time finding info about them. does anybody have any experience with this brand?

I am a beginner and I am not expecting great quality from a set that only costs 150 bucks with the bag. I just want to see if they are comparable to other clubs in this price range.

Thanks

the company has been making good quality entry level clubs for many many years. a very good club for the price. with the economy in the tank. you may find a much better deal for less money looking in the used sporting goods section of your cities newspaper. if not after few days. try large flea market. even better buys. if you need them noe. do not hesitate. you can always upgrade after a few seasons. good purchase. for the price. excellent buy.

They suck, don’t get them. Don’t get any clubs from Big 5. If you want a good starter set, go to Sports Authority, Sport Chalet, and/or Dick’s Sporting Goods. Big 5 sucks, especially for golf. Don’t buy any golf stuff at Big 5.

I know you are getting a lot of mix comments about the clubs.
They are good level entry clubs. There is a big difference on high quality clubs and Nitro’s. but as rookie in the game, you won’t tell the difference until your game gets very good.
    Good luck

I own a set of the nitro golf clubs. I got them for my birthday. I believe they were purchased from big 5 as well. They are a great set of clubs. They have a nice firm graphite shaft on the clubs. Comes with everything you need. I have a very fast swing and I can still hit the ball straight with these clubs. The driver has a very large club face but still hits nicely if you tee it up high. Putter is decent. Irons are fantastic. Woods are nice also. I would definitely recommend getting these golf clubs. The bag is nice also. Lots of pockets for stuff. And it has the double shoulder strap which is nice. I used to play on my step dads taylormade burner set until I got my own set and I would say going from a set of thousand dollar clubs to these clubs there was not much difference. I also could not find much info on the clubs but I did come across a guy who told me that they were made from Callaway and Callaway sold them to nitro because they didn’t meet the standards to be a Callaway golf clubs, Nothing that affected how the golf clubs play, something cosmetic I think. So they were able to sell them for really cheap. Take it from me as I own a set of the golf clubs and play quite often.
