4 Responses to Golf: the mechanics of correcting a slice?

It is impossible to correct a slice without seeing the slice. But some common mistakes are holding the clubface too open, pulling hips through too early, losing control of the clubface

Swing from the inside. My experiences with slicing have come because my clubpath is on an outside in plane.

a slicers swingpath (for a right handed player) looks like “(” that while a normal to hookers swing path looks like “)” that.

If that’s too confusing go see a local pro.

    1) In the upswing make sure your left arm is completely straight. Your wrist have to be straight if you bend your wrist upwards to the sky it means you slice if your wrist is down aiming to the ground it means your hooking.
(A little pointer- Wear a wrist watch and put a small ruler on your left arm preventing your wrist to move)

2)Your stance your left leg should be planted to the ground do not lift while in the upswing

3)Check your grip do you have it properly aligned
