Recently when I’ve been playing my drive is going maybe 10 feet in the air and staying there, sometimes lower (wormburner if you would). Before my drive was fine, it was flying straight, high and long, now i cant seem to figure it out. What could be the problem? What should I try different?

A weak lead hand (left hand for right handed golfers) is a common error which produces shots that slice and lack power. It results from the lead hand gripping too much in the palm.

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is light and 10 is tight, I recommend a pressure of 4 or 5. This allows the club to be swung with power and control. Feel relaxed and tension-free in your hands and forearms.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

the swing a complex move and there can be a few issues you have to take a look for. Maybe your stance is not that proper or a wrong grip. Shorter hands need a different grip etc. Take a good training guide and see if you can improve your swing with some basic exercises.

    Cheers

This can be caused by a few things, but I Cannot tell you specifically without seeing your swing.

To narrow it down I need some more information…

Are you still hitting it on center or not? Are they being hit thin? fat? toe? heel?

The first thing I would check though is your ball position. I could suspect that the ball is out of position.

Take your normal setup, then before you swing lay your club across your feet. This gives you your target line. Make sure this is pointed about 10 feet left of your actual target (parallel to your target).

Now take another club and lay it perpendicular to your target line club, so the clubs make a cross. Line this club up with the ball. For your driver this should be just inside your left (front) foot. Most people say at your left instep.

If that is fine and checks out then you should get a lesson from your local PGA Professional, it will be well worth it.

    Hope this helps!

ok it could be a couple of things… i had this same problem a while back and i had to try all of these before one worked. first check you stance, if you are standing to close it can make you hit it low(in fact when i want to hit a knockdown shot i stand closer and grip down on the club). next check your grip, your left hand might be strong which means it is turned to the left too much, make sure your thumbs both point straight down. if its neither of those then you have a more complicated problem. on your down swing your hands might be in front of your club too much and you are not releasing your hands causing you to hit really low shots even though it feels like you made solid contact. try relaxing your muscles when you swing and feel like you really turn your right hand over one the follow through.
