I have never been a huge fan of Tiger Woods because of his actions on the golf course, but what he did basically ended any respect I had for him. I am curious what some other people think about it and him now that he did what he did.

Great athletic ability but he’s a @$$.
why would anyone get upset over some strangers personal life.People think they know famous people…well u don’t same as they do not know you so shot your big mouths and look in the mirror first before you judge someone else…no matter who it is.
If you don’t like someone then ignore them and that is it.
I think the answer depends on what do you think Tiger’s role in society is? Do you think he is a role model to emulate? Someone to look up to? Well he has never shown that he wants that role or that he thinks that should be his role. He has never taken a stance against country clubs that do not allow players of certain races or religions to join. He has never put himself out there as a model for society or a champion for society ills. So why should we look up to him as a role model? Personally, I don’t and don’t think people should. So with that in mind, my stance is that he is human, he made a mistake (or about 14 of them) and that he will have to live with the consequences of his actions.
Now go out there and kill the field and win the Grand Slam!!!
I agree with you. I hate it when people spit, swear and throw their clubs at the local muni- to me, it’s akin to a 5 year old’s temper tantrum. It’s pathetic. When I see those types of people, they remind me of the “It’s Not My Fault!” types. Having the world’s #1 golfer act that exact same way is completely disgusting- it’s telling those same jack@sses that not only is it OK, it’s acceptable… how else do you get to where you are, other than being a d0uchebag? Apologizer’s call it “being competitive”- and that’s a freaking joke. His serial philandering was evidence that Tiger truly cares about two things: himself and his fake image. His foundation, while a worthy cause, looks like an affront to make people think that he cares about others… but ask a kid who’s been denied an autograph from their idol because he’s afraid they’d sell it on EBay… who cares if they do? Last I checked, Tiger’s autograph isn’t used as currency, and it’s not like he’d be the first athlete to have that happen. He really needs to just get over himself.
Yes, I’ve had it with him. He wasn’t the reason I got into golf- that was my best friend BEFORE Tiger made his “breakout”. While it was interesting to see what he could do, I never believed for a moment that I could duplicate it, so I only watched with passing interest. He isn’t the reason I watch the PGA- that was Phil Mickelson (a fellow lefty) and now Daniel Chopra and Padraig Harrington- both examples of class, and both winners on Tour. Chopra being a fellow Star Wars geek helps, as well.
Gary McCord, the CBS Golf analyst (and former PGA pro) said it best- the Tour needs to (and should’ve been) diversified. In a nutshell (not a direct quote) he said the PGA Tour had become the Tiger Tour, and it shouldn’t be that way, likening it to businesses that aren’t diversified- those business models just don’t make sense.
I don’t care what he did in his personal life. I watch the man play golf like a Jedi Knight: by putting the ball anywhere he wants.

I will be the 1st to tune in and watch him play again. I never liked the man, for that matter other than what the tabloids allow us…I don’t even really know him. Nor do I pretend to. His personal life is exactly that…personal! As far as his golfing career, I am growing a little tired of his temper tantrums when he mishits a ball. But overall, I love watching a tournament with him in it for the same reason I’d watch Michael Jordan…no matter how far out of the lead they are, they have the God-given ability to make you say, “Well, he’s not quite out of it yet”! Period.

We golf fans will get over it. He is still the best golfer ever, so I can’t not respect him. He has brought so much to the game that losing all respect for him is very harsh. I do wish he’d go on air and apologize.
I think he compromised his moral values by letting his notoriety go to his head. What does this mean? I don’t care what he does in his personal life any more than what Clinton did. They get paid to do a job and I will evaluate them on that.
I don’t really care about his private life, I want to see him back playing. But you got that right: he has lost the respect and awe factor of the fans and probably the players. I can see someone mouthing off to him or Williams when they use the “Tiger Command Voice” to complain about the gallery. He is no longer a god, just another guy who cheats on his wife.
