Francis Ouimet is called “the Father of American Golf.” In the movie “The Greatest Game Ever Played” a young woman named Sara shares his attraction. Was she a real character. I’m not able to find any information about a wife or family on Mr. Ouimet.

Her name was Sarah Wallis, and they married sometime between 1915 and 1920. They had two daughters that I know of, Barbara (McLean) and Janice (Salvi). I do not know when she died. Sorry, but I hope this will help.
