Tiger Woods has been very very lucky as he’s gotten to reap the rewards of the hardships Lee Elder and Charlie Sifford faced. They both opened the door, while experiencing immense amounts of hatred and racism, for people of color to play golf on the PGA Tour. Tiger Woods has certainly taken the ball and ran with it and truly made golf a global game and at the least, made himself the most recognizable athlete on the planet. He’s done this, not just because he’s black (and other ethnicities as well), but also becuase he’s shown a tremendous amount of desire, dedication, and talent. One of the major Tiger things TIger has done is created the TIger Woods Learning Centers. I won’t do all of the work for you here, but this has done so much for the youth of the community and has been the springboard for many kids to start thinking about what they want to do when they grow up. Tiger’s almost too young to mention on the same sentence as the word history, but he makes it almost everytime he steps on the golf course. In several years, we’ll all be able to look back and say we saw the man play in his prime, who could end up being the greatest golfer to have ever lived.

He certainly did a lot for black history. He is one of the more famous people in the world, the richest athlete, and the best golfer. He is african american and he loves to promote his race.

Well he made history as the first person of African or Asian heritage to win the Masters tournament. He’s single handedly responsible for the amount of money pro golfers earn on tour and none of them will debate that point. He is not the first person of African or Asian heritage to play on the PGA Tour. He is by far the most successful golfer in the history of the sport from a monetary standpoint. Once he surpasses Jack Nicklaus’ record for major golf tournament wins, he will be the most successful golfer ever. He needs 4 to tie and 5 to surpass Nicklaus. He may one day be the winningest golfer of all time.

Not alot since Tiger is mostly Asian. Tiger has always been quick to point out that he’s multi-racial, not just black.
If you want to do a project on black golfers, you might choose Charlie Sifford, Cal Peete, or Lee Elder. You might also consider Kevin Hall, an up and coming star who deals with being a golfer and deaf.

Well, he did a number of things that would take forever to describe, but most importantly he broke the colour barrier in golf, and became the first african-american to play on tour.
