1. a cynic is someone who is always negative; so instead of smelling flowers and searching for the garden, his negativity leads him to a coffin.

    1) Since a cynic is a bit of a pessimist, a cynic would go around looking for a coffin (As in respect for the dead and such) when he smells flowers, instead of looking for a garden or vase or something like that.

    2) This one is humorous. We are all cheaters. It is just that some people confess that they are and others do. The person who wrote this quote is doubting it, however.

    3) An idealist is someone who’s kind of like a dreamer, so only a dreamer would think that since roses smell better than cabbages (I disagree; cabbages don’t even smell to me…), they’ll make a better soup.

    4) Pretty straightforward.

    5) The reason they’re famous is because of the things they’re famous for. It is kind of trying to get your calculator to tap dance.
