Question by ~ Libby ~: SURVEY – Is anyone else Upset about the “Lead” News Story, the past 24 hours ?
.
MQ –For those that watch News — What was the Lead Story of the past 24 hours?
.
For me, it has been the Tiger Woods “thing”

…and this morning, I open-up Yahoo News — and there is Tiger’s face….

I realize that he is a big celebrity, but I am a little upset that these 2 items, took a “back-seat”, as far as amount of coverage & the Lead story –

“4 Police Officers Ambushed in Coffee Shop” –

“Terrorism Caused Russian Train Derailment”

I realize that this is how “things are” now — but –

MQ2 — Is anyone else, here, a little “angry” about the Priorities of New Coverage?
.
.

  1. Philip McCrevice says:

    Watch Fox News.

They report the important things you mentioned, then have a little snippet about Tiger, not the other way around.

  2. Are you Kidding ME? says:

Americans are more interested in a person’s “SEX” life..they are digging and digging until they find what they are looking for

  3. Jim G says:

You are not alone in your disdain for the media’s lack of reporting the harsher stories while focusing on the “fluff” stories. However, in their defense. If it didn’t get ratings. It wouldn’t get aired. Blame the public, and their lack of wanting to confront reality.

If we were not a country of obsessive voyeurs that gleefully want to see people fall off of their pedestals then the Tiger Woods thing wouldn’t take up that much space. I watched all the talking heads on the news and they all made little innuendos that he may have had a domestic tiff. I have never understood why people are so envious and jealous that they can’t stand to see someone achieve greatness without hoping they will fall. If the most neurotic society in the world, American, would stop trying to run everyone else’s life maybe they to could achieve their own goals.

I was pretty confused myself when I didn’t see more coverage on the police shootings. I hadn’t heard about the Russian thing, but then again I was about ten blocks from the shooting when it happened.

Tiger Woods? I’m just perplexed. It should have been something mentioned once or twice, not the lead story for a day or two.
