I do exactly as you describe here fro general practrice. I also do sessions to train my swing with just a 6 iron (warming up and warmimg down with a 9 or PW). Then I do sessions where I practice playing the course on the range and there’s a great par 3 course near by I play 1 or 2 times a week or just work on putting, chipping and bunker shots. I even play golf on a golf course ……..

Thanks for a great series of videos and reviews.

    Cheers, Seamus

I start off with 56 or 60 degree wedge, making those 20 – 75 yard shots, then move on to the irons, wack a few of them, then to the 3 woods and drivers to finish off

Oh wait, i forgot to mention the putting green, do loads of putting !

Thats pretty much how I’m starting my sessions for a couple of weeks now. Before that I kind of randomly switched through some clubs, but it often frustrated me when my full swing wasnt there from the first shot and I automatically tried harder and messed up even more. Now I’m starting with the PW and go through my set pretty much like in the video here and that makes me feel much more confident. It also prevents any kind of aching I had in my wirsts for example, because I’m much more relaxed

For longer practice only days what do you do regarding ball placement and the divot marks? Do you place the ball as far as possible from divots, place the ball at the top of a divot, place the ball at the back of a divot, or something else?

I always start with a 7iron, make sure I’m getting a good contact, then to the 5. When I hit that well on to the 4. Then it’s 3wood from the deck. Next comes the driver. After the long clubs I pitch with my 4 wedges. All at different distances to promote control, then I hit a few full wedges, and a couple of flop shots. Then the driver to finish.

I do something very similar, except I start out with, and finish with, my most confident club. For me that is a 7-iron. I will start by hitting a 3/4 7-iron, work up to full with that. Then I will go down to PW just like Mark showed, and work up to Driver. And finish out with some confident 7-irons.

I do the same thing using either odd or even clubs at the range. My biggest difference is that hitting longer, heavier clubs like my 5 wood seem to grove my swing better than my wedges. If I start with wedges and shank one, it makes it tough to get my swing back.
