I mean all Tiger Woods did was cheat on his wife, yet the media was all over hating on him,calling him a thug and a bad man. Charlie Sheen has had 3 wives. One he claims he accidentally shot and two have accused him of abuse and yet the media has given him very little bashing compared to Tiger Woods. Is this because Tiger Woods is black.

It’s because Tiger Woods is more famous and before this he was considered a great role model for everyone.
Now that Tiger Woods wife has BLACKMAILED him, claiming $80 million to stay IN marriage, there must be many married women out there, thinking ‘Hmm…. if I can leave him tomorrow, would nt that be an easy way to get his fortune?’ America is an easy place for beautiful ladies to make money if they just find out this method!
Remembering that there are no penalties if SHE is caught cheating; and that, like Tigers wife, the MEDIA would protect the WOMAN, even if SHE assaulted HIM!
Or – EVEN – IF – she – had – cheated – on – him! With PROPAGANDA power like this at their disposal, male-haters need to fear no one! They even started castigating that Tiger had assaulted HER, by simply saying that ‘a woman’ ( her mother actually ), had been taken to hospital form the Tiger family home. ( Actually she was being treated for an upset stomach )

How many of the ppl around him knew that he was living a lie and chose not to say anything because they like the money or after glow of being in Tigers entourage?!? All the sponsors who bought into the hype and now they’re ducking for cover and cutting him loose like he’s radioactive! As mean as this sounds, i’m glad she’s wringing him dry because he didn’t learn anything from O.J. and Kobe when they said leave those white women alone! He is so enamored with them, now each one of them is either looking to cash in or take him down! And he has no one to run to! Being that he’s Cablinasian ( his word) he’s not accepted in any community! Hell at least Michael Jackson went to Harlem because he knew black ppl would back him up! Tiger can’t go to blacks because they he cut them off, can’t get support from whites because let’s face it he’s just a N*gger who can play golf, asians don’t want him because he’s black regardless of what his mother is ( mixed children aren’t treated well in asia!) and indians don’t care! Charlie Sheen was never a good role model to begin with. Tiger, on the other hand, was this untouchable sports figure who came crashing down to earth and the media hopped all over him.
Sheen can’t hold a candle to Tiger! The guy is a lousy actor whereas Tiger is King of the Golf course! SO! he cheated on his wife! Is HE the only guy that ever did that!? Tiger is about a thousand times more famous. That is why. Im not even positive I know Charlie Sheen is.
I don’t think race is a factor here. Charlie Sheen has been acting like this for years (going way back to the late 80s when he was engaged to porn star Ginger Lynn) whereas we all thought Tiger was a 100% focused professional family man. And Tiger is the most recognized athlete in the world. Charlie Sheen drinks highballs on a tv show. I think that is why you see the big discrepancy in media coverage.
From what I’ve seen on TMZ, Extra, and read in the US Weekly, & Nat’l Inquirer, they both seem to be neck and neck. I guess it all depends on what you read and what you watch. Tiger seems to be all about sex, while Charlie seems to be a nut case, he has a bad temper.
Tiger has earned roughly $800mm (that’s $800 million) in endorsements and is widely viewed as one of (if not the) richest pro athlete in the world.
Charlie Sheen…mediocre actor with a fairly checkered past who hasn’t traded on him being this upstanding citizen.

No, I disagree. Yes you can argue that race is somewhat a factor as far as the amount of negative media attention based on black athlete stereotypes, but the Charlie Sheen comparison is baseless because Charlie Sheen has built his much of success around a bad boy image. Tiger Woods has built much of his success around an ultra clean and wholesome image.
Suffice to say, people are more surprised at Tigers missteps, while they’ve come to expect them from Charlie. It would be no different if we were comparing say Dennis Rodman (at his peak of popularity) to Tiger. Bad boys like Rodman and Sheen get a pass, while goody two shoes like Woods or say a Peyton Manning will not.

Charlie Sheen has always been a bad boy, and has never pretended to be anybody’s role model. Nobody cares because behavior like that is to be expected from Charlie once in a while. It’s not good by any means, but Charlie is who he is and the media accepts that.
Tiger, on the other hand, pretended to be a saintly husband who supposedly reveled in his private time with his family when he was not golfing. Tiger took on the mantle of role model. However, to have more than 11 women come out and say they had an affair with him and seemingly have proof is what brought Tiger down. And the type of women made it worse. Porn stars. Don’t be surprised if Tiger has herpes. And his wife might have it too, because Tiger would be too proud to tell her he had it in the first place.
So, that’s why the media’s on Tiger’s rear end. Race has nothing to do with it.
At first I thought your question was ridiculous, BUT you make a good point. Charlie Sheen is smooched by the media, and media made such an ENORMOUS deal about the whole Tiger Woods thing (SICK of hearing about it, by the way). I just don’t get why there was a double standard for Woods. I heard so many people say stupid stuff like, “I’m really disappointed in Tiger Woods; I thought he was a great guy.” What the?! Just because he’s a celebrity golfer, doesn’t mean he’s supposed to be superhuman or something! He’s a human being. Yes, what he did was disgusting and wrong, but don’t we hear this kind of garbage about celebrities ALL THE TIME? What made HIM so different from any of the OTHER foolish, idiotic, celebrity dopes? Charlie Sheen changed his name from Carlos Irwin Estévez to Charlie Sheen so one could reasonably argue that he could be a target of racists who do not like Hispanics. Charlie never pretended to be a choirboy. In his humor, for example on Saturday Night Live and on talk shows he has always made self deprecating comments about his own flaws and mishaps.
Tiger Woods on the other hand accepted multi-millions of dollars of advertising money (and where does THAT come from other than consumers?) He was held out as what any African American kid could be with hard work and practice! He was squeaky clean, has an athletic build, is multi ethnic and married with kids. What a nice, lovely image to sell Nike and other products.
But it was all bogus. It was just an invented image. It has little to do with racism and much to do with him being totally bogus. No one likes a liar, much less an unfaithful one.

Regardless, I do not think he was singled out because of his race. He is a celebrity and the media always looks at the foibles of the rich and famous.
As for Sheen, he is far more willing to admit his faults and many of the public see him in a different way because h is known from TV shows and movies. People get to see a persona even though it is of an ACTOR. Tiger Woods is seen with a golf club, dressed impeccably and with a perfect physique for modeling the clothing and sports accessories, We hardly ever hear a word out of his mouth so he is an easier target because he tries to be so perfect and it’s all a lie. Charlie Sheen is KNOWN as a womanizer, drug problem, drinker, etc. Being humble and honest can help an image more than being a liar.
