    noon

Hey, don’t be snarky. Obama needs his rest and relaxation like his press secretary said. It’s tough blaming everything on everyone else, especially Bush, and being married to that alleged woman who wants a lot of dates out of town.

I’m almost positive tomorrow will be a double round with Tee times at noon and 4. The first to mourn the loss of “Pork Barrel King” Byrd of West Virginia. The second round to mourn the loss of his gun grab mentality in the Supreme Court today. (Even though his latest “Droid” Sotomayor went back on her confirmation hearing testimony to honor the 2nd amendment when she voted AGAINST gun rights – just as he wanted) “Oil Spill, What Oil spill?” Barack “Tiger” Obama 2010

While no fan, I have to admit he neither caused the leak or the lack of competence to stop it, so what, exactly, would you have him do that he isn’t doing? Sit on it? I got so tired of the people in New Orleans blaming Bush for the weather, let’s not blame our Kenyan friend for British Petroleum’s incompetence.

On a Offshore oil rig, he is going to turn the rigs into an Offshore Golf Course for his Elite friends, he and George Soros can sit atop the rig and sip wine and talk about the BILLIONS and BILLIONS they will make by exporting oil to the USA from their Brazilian Oil Company

Contrary to the popular “blame the president” opinion, there really isn’t anything that can be done to expedite this process in this case. Trust me when I say that although BP couldn’t care less about the environmental destruction it has caused from the very beginning of its existence, they do care about the profits and the fate of their company as a result of the never-ending oil volcano that erupted on their watch.

BP is understandably trying to solve the problem as quickly as feasibly possible, because it is in their best interests to do so. The main dilemma is that such an occurrence has never happened, and there weren’t any plausible contingency plans beforehand, to deal with the situation underway now.

The fact that there was no contingency plan to deal with the oil spill is quite a marvel, when you consider that nuclear power plants, biological and chemical weapon storage facilities, and any number of facilities that could possibly cause widespread death and destruction if things go wrong, all have practical contingency plans in order to deal with every feasible thing that could go wrong the moment it happens. This is absolutely required, because Murphy’s Law is always being tested, every moment of every day in every line of work on the planet. And yet, nobody saw the need to develop a contingency plan for a massive, underwater oil leak, in spite of the fact that offshore drilling has been an industry for MORE THAN A HUNDRED YEARS NOW.

And so, all the previous attempts and outrageous concoctions are the result of a multinational corporation struggling to come up with a working solution on its feet, after the catastrophe has already occurred and continues to exacerbate as time goes on. It would be like forcing NASA to come up with a plan to permanently station people on the moon in a year because an asteroid on its way to the earth has just now been detected. And while its unlikely that there will be any way of dealing with a planet killing asteroid in the near future, an oil-stopping device at the base of the well could have very realistically been created and installed before this disaster occurred, when the rig was just being built. The expenses involved with the creation of such a device, its ability to function 5000 feet below the ocean, and the unprecedented nature of the oil spill, are all good reasons why a profit-driven corporation didn’t care to take such precautions beyond what was the absolute minimum according to federal regulations (which may have not even made a difference, considering how jacked up the MMS was prior to the spill).

Given that the relief drill plans are only going to solve the leak at the end of August at the very soonest (I would actually be surprised if its plugged or completely under control by Christmas at the very soonest) the Gulf is going to be an inhospitable, black sea of death well before the leak is under control. And, given the stark reality of this, whatever the president or BP does at this point, everyone’s livelihoods that were dependent on the Gulf economy are now gone, and millions will be forced to migrate elsewhere in order to find work during the second worst economy since the Great Depression.
